Most of The Nest's lookbooks come from last minute shoots. What starts out as a couple gals just messing around in front of a camera ends up in print because the carefree spirit of the shoot gets such wonderful pictures that I can't help but put them together into something bigger than just a few shots to scatter on social media. This shoot was the epitome of one of those experiences.
My new free-spirited intern, Caroline Guy, called up a couple of her friends, we played dress-up with Ali Denney behind the lens and now we have this fresh lookbook for you to add to your collection. Because you save all of them and have them displayed on your coffee table right? ;) [Funny side note story: I actually had someone tell me that they have collected them all and use them for that purpose. At first, I thought that was kind of weird because of my self-deprecating ways, but then I realized that was the biggest compliment ever!]
Anyhow, it has a much different feel than our previous ones, but I'm totally digging it. It feels young, fresh, and the juxtaposition of the text with the playfulness of our models--who are still in high school--felt like a really good message to just wear whatever the heck you feel best in and don't worry about what others think. It is a message that I wish I heeded when I was their age, but have just started dipping my toe into in my mid 30s.
Swing by the shop to pick up a copy, and let me know what you think!
