Sometimes grade school friends stay local, live in the same neighborhood they grew up in and care a lot about their roots. Sometimes, they get a break and leave everything they've ever known to make it big in a big city. Well, Matthew Lew is proof that sometimes grade school friends do both!
Growing up with this guy from a Roy Gomm Gopher to a Swope Panther and onto a Reno High Husky, I can truly say that I am lucky to be his friend. Not only does Matt put endless amounts of energy and enthusiasm into his art, he radiates joy and inspires others to dream big and accomplish big! A 'Hometown Hero' of sorts, Matt has deep roots in Reno and is now using his big city Chicago art platform to highlight his upbringing and bring money to Northern Nevada and his alma mater, Reno High.
Matt has created a collection of digital art prints that highlight everything we love about living in Reno and Nevada. This vision was originally cast as a way to fund our 20 year reunion and quickly morphed into it's own business that is not just supporting the Reno High Class of '98, but is pouring into the future of the Reno High Huskies by giving 50% of every purchase back to the school!! Thus, Silverstate98 was born and is charging full steam ahead in both the realm of cutting edge art and giving back to education. A win win is a beautiful thing, and we can't keep quiet about the fact that we get to highlight that at our Pop-Up shop at The Nest on July 15th as part of Discover Dickerson. Don't miss this!!!
If you can't make the Pop-Up shop, or want to purchase a print larger than an 11 x 14, prints are always available online and only take 2-3 business days to ship!! Click the button above to browse and/or purchase online. Matt is always adding new and exciting prints to the collection so check back often!!
